The Legal 500 has published its long anticipated EMEA rankings for 2022.
With regards to Israel, there are a total of 73 changes in the practice areas, which is the lowest in recent years (compared to 105 in 2021, 134 in 2020 and 175 in 2019).
The number of firms who went up and entered the rankings is nearly identical, 36, to the number of firms who went down or out of the rankings.
Moreover, this marks the first year in recent history where we can count more firms going down than up (23 to 17).
When examining the firms who improved their rankings, two firms come top with three improvements each – Erdinast, Ben Nathan, Toledano & Co. With Hamburger Evron and Shibolet & Co., two firms with two improvements – Pearl Cohen and ES Shimron and 29 law firms with one improvement. Three law firms climbed to Tier 1 this year – Zecler Argov (Competition), Naschitz, Brandes, Amir (Hi-Tech) and Pearl Cohen (IP:Transactions).
Only 10 law firms, among Israel’s 25 largest law firms, moved up the rankings this year, while 30 law firms managed to improve in the individual rankings (leading/next gen/rising stars).
With that said, this year witnesses the rise of the star individuals, with 96 new entries into the Leading, Next Generation and Rising Stars categories. The firms who performed best with individuals entering the tables – FISCHER (FBC & Co.) and Erdinast, Ben Nathan, Toledano & Co. With Hamburger Evron with 10 new entries each, followed by Meitar with 9, Yigal Arnon with 7 and Goldfarb Seligman and Herzog, Fox & Neeman with 6.
