While Israel’s politicians try to negotiate the country towards a coalition government, there are plenty of negotiations for Israeli businesses this past week. Israeli startups raised a record USD 2.8 billion in March 2021, almost doubling the previous monthly record of USD 1.44 billion, set in January.

Erdinast, Ben Nathan, Toledano & Co. represented More Investment House and Shavit Capital, in a unique investment via the TASE UP platform and Tadmor Levy has represented General Atlantic in a USD 52 million Series C financing round. Elsewhere, there were cross-border agreements, with Gross Law Offices representing Israel’s national water company, Mekorot, in a groundbreaking agreement with the Bahrain Water and Electricity Authority. Greenberg Traurig advised Texas-headquartered tech company Digital Turbine on the purchase agreement to acquire Israel’s Fyber for USD 600 million, while a team of Pillsbury lawyers has advised Shikun & Binui as it expands its energy portfolio with an agreement to buy Savion’s Brazoria West Solar Project in Texas.
We close the week with a raft of awards and nominations. Naschitz Brandes Amir was awarded Israel Law Firm of the Year by ALB and Managing IP EMEA 2021 has crowned Luthi + Webb, Liad Whatstein & Co., Luzzatto & Luzzatto., Pearl Cohen and Herzog Fox Neeman, as law firms of the year in various IP categories. LMG’s Life Sciences Awards 2021 has shortlisted the following for Israel Firm of the Year: Gornitzky, Gross Law Firm, Herzog Fox & Neeman, Liad Whatstein , Lipa Meir , Pearl Cohen, S Horowitz and Tadmor Levy.
